Simple Keto Diet Breakfast

I love breakfast 🍳, it’s a great way to start my day. I mostly stick to just trying to eat a low carb diet. But, I do like the idea of the Keto diet. It’s sometimes challenging to diet with my kids and family. Thankfully, my husband and I share a common goal!

Keto diet vs Low Carb Diet

Basically, the difference between the two is. Low carb is just that, trying to eat less than 70 grams of carbs per day. The Ketogenic diet on the other hand, is eating a certain percentage of fat, protein, and carbs. The purpose is that your body is being fueled by burning and using ketones instead of glucose. This way you burn excess fat instead of having your body store it.

I usually end up just trying to switch between the two, focusing on eating Whole Foods that aren’t processed, decreasing my carb intake and cutting sugars. That’s why you’ll see a lot of my new recipes following this guideline. If I can add Keto elements to my meal by adding some fat then I do! That’s why I love this simple recipe, it tastes great and gives a nice protein to fat ratio.

Being a Keto Mom

As a busy mom, I tend to always, put my little ones needs before my own and so, sometimes don’t have time to eat breakfast. I mean, I could make time, if I really wanted to, but it’s nice to not have to worry about it, if I don’t eat because… Bonus, when I don’t eat breakfast my body stays in a fasted state a little bit longer, which gives me the added benefit of being in ketosis and therefore, potentially burning fat for energy! I mean who would like to loose that excess fat, 🙋🏼‍♀️ I do!

So this recipe works great as a first meal of the day, whether that is breakfast, lunch, or even an afternoon snack! Helpful tip * – cooking your bacon in bulk at the beginning of the week or on the weekend-just make it all when you cook Sunday breakfast, really helps make this meal simple during the week, when things get busy!

Simple Keto Bacon and Eggs

This breakfast is super easy to make and tastes great! 

Ingredients

  • 3 Eggs
  • Shredded Cheese
  • 1-2 TBSP Heavy Cream
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Butter for Pan
  • Bacon

Instructions

  • Heat a non-stick pan and melt the butter in it. In a bowl stir eggs, salt, pepper, and heavy cream. Whisk well! Then pour it into the pan and cook until soft and fluffy and top with cheese! I usually cook a whole pack of bacon and use it throughout the week. I like the thick cut bacon from Costco!
