A Decade of Most Popular Baby Girl Names [2010-2019]

When I became pregnant with my daughter, I was so overwhelmed with trying to pick the perfect name. I am not sure why I struggled so much more with a girl name, than I did with a boy name.

I didn’t know what to do. So, I turned to the internet and this book for help, because I just couldn’t think of any names on my own that really resonated with me. Man, it was so tough, and such a big decision.

I found this great book on Amazon full of baby names! It was really fun flipping through the pages and running through name scenarios in my head.

The book was really awesome and had a TON of names! I could also highlight and mark it up! It was such a great tool! I highly recommend it because it was super useful and made it fun to flip though and highlight.

The Complete Book of Baby Names

That’s when I decided to narrow it down to six names that I really liked. They were: Gabby, Addison, Reed, Maisie, Paisley, and Regan. So, I was a big fan of Paisley and Gabby, but my husband was leaning more towards a Maisie or Addison.

What we did!

Here’s what we ended up doing. At first, I did it, as kinda a joke, but little did I know that I was going to fall in love with the name. So, I said to my husband. “Lets write down the names on a piece of paper, cut them out. Then, we will place them all over the room. Whatever name Gavin (our 18 mo old), brings us first, is the name we will choose.”

Now at the time, I was around 28 weeks pregnant. We still had plenty of time to decide. But, I am such an organizer and planner that I wanted to have it more narrowed down to two names. That way, once we met our daughter, we could really choose.

Dunt-Dunt-A-Dun! My son brought us the name Maisie! Thats what we chose, and I have never looked back! I am absolutely in love with her name, and I can’t wait to tell her the story of how we came up with it! And yes, my husband and I are big Game of Thrones fans!
